Centacare Evolve Housing held our first Bin to Win event at Gagebrook Park in September 2022.
A collaboration between Brighton Council, Zero Waste and Centacare Evolve Housing’s Community Wellbeing team, this event was a great success, with over 80 car loads of rubbish being sorted and removed.
A fun approach to waste education was at the forefront of the event. Stalls included an interactive education station and all rubbish from the event was sorted into seven categories to ensure the least amount of waste possible was delivered to landfill.
“Together, the community removed 80 carloads of waste, over 200 tires, over 50 whitegoods and over 40 mattresses,” said Elise, Centacare Evolve Housing Community Wellbeing Officer and event co-ordinator.
“This event demonstrates Centacare Evolve Housing’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability across our business and in community” said Elise.
The Gagebrook Bin to Win event is the first of this kind we have held, with more now in the pipeline thanks to support from our community.
